Amazon announced that Alexa+, its AI-powered voice assistant, is now available to all U.S. customers with free unlimited access for Prime members and a $19.99 monthly subscription for non-members. The upgraded assistant, which launched in early access in February 2025, combines over 70 large language models and agentic capabilities powered by Amazon Nova and Anthropic. Amazon reports that tens of millions of customers used Alexa+ during early access, with interaction rates more than doubling compared to standard Alexa. The platform integrates with retailers and services including Amazon, Whole Foods, Panera, Uber, GrubHub, and Ticketmaster, enabling users to complete complex tasks like ordering takeout, making reservations, and booking rides through voice commands or text chat.
